Description of Event:
The City of Lawrence Office of Planning & Development is convening a group of municipal officials and key stakeholders to participate in two morning workshops to assess the City’s vulnerability to extreme weather events exacerbated by climate change and to develop action-oriented resilience strategies.
The workshop goals are to:
- Build connections within Lawrence among stakeholders on local planning and hazard mitigation efforts;
- Evaluate the strengths and vulnerabilities of the City’s neighborhoods, infrastructure and natural resources;
- Develop and prioritize resilience actions for the City, businesses, institutions, neighborhoods and community groups; and
- Identify immediate opportunities to advance actions that reduce the impact of hazards and increase resilience in Lawrence.
We appreciate your time and participation. We all know extreme weather events are increasing the City’s vulnerability, so now is the time to prioritize actions to build a more resilient Lawrence.
